Instructor Meredith Wu
Certified Pregnancy Yoga Instructor
Prenatal yoga offers mothers a refuge of peace and inspiration to celebrate their bodies and babies throughout pregnancy. We will practice poses that promote vibrant prenatal health and prepare the mind and body for birth, nursing, and motherhood. Learn therapeutic applications of yoga to relieve common pregnancy-related discomforts as well as poses for labor and birth. Guided meditations, deep relaxation and a supportive circle are included to honor this very sacred time of life.
About the instructor:
Meredith first explored yoga while majoring in East Asian Studies
at Smith College. Inspired to share its physically and emotionally
transformative power with others, she completed a 200 hour yoga
teacher training at Global Yoga in Chicago. Meredith has earned
certifications in hatha and prenatal yoga and is registered with
the Yoga Alliance. While living in the windy city, Meredith taught
prental, hatha and mom & baby yoga classes and worked as a labor
support and post partum doula. She moved to New Haven to pursue
a degree in Nurse Midwifery at the Yale School of Nursing and
is excited to integrate into the yoga and childbirth community.
Recently, the path of yoga lead Meredith to India where she delved
more deeply into asana, pranayama and meditation.

Influenced by classic hatha, Anusara and Sivananda
teachers, Meredith assists each student in finding their most
rewarding and safest practice by emphasizing alignment, offering
appropriate modifications and giving hands-on adjustments. In
her classes, she encourages students to explore the ever-evolving
balance between effort and ease and promotes a deep connection
with one's breath.
