NOTE: This session is not appropriate for pregnant woman or those with detached retinas, or wrist or arm injuries. Inversions and arm balancing poses are challenging and exciting. They rejuvenate the mind and body. They increase circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy, stimulating the endocrine and immune systems. Both arm balancing poses and inversions develop mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility. In this session, learn the essential elements of these powerful poses. Find out what you CAN do to move towards your next level with these poses. Learn the skills of balance and then have fun applying them to your life.
Building the Warrior Heart

With Forrest Yoga’s heart-opening asanas, you learn to breathe in a way that opens your core and gives the heart the support and counsel of the rest of the primary charkas. Learn to remove the emotional shielding from your heart so it can truly and honestly feel each new experience afresh. This helps your heart and Spirit be more resilient, flexible and adept at surfing emotional waves. Begin building skill in accessing, cleansing and resolving emotional issues and move them out of the cell tissue, thus freeing your heart. This makes room for seeing and absorbing the beauty and sweetness in our world, which nourishes the heart.
Day-Long Assisting Workshop
Make the Connection: The Philosophy and Practice of Hands-On Assists
Sunday June 30th 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM, 1:30 - 6:30 PM
$150, or $125 earlybird by June 20th
Use this full day hands-on assisting intensive to develop the understanding and skill for effective hands-on assists. You will deepen your awareness of the alignment and purpose of each pose and find confidence in using your voice and your hands as you authentically make a connection with your students.
The morning session is devoted to asana practice and practicing specific hands-on assists. In addition to hands-on assists, the afternoon session includes the exploration of connection, energetics, and right relationship between the student and teacher through writing, seeing, working with injuries and question and answer.
This workshop is open to all yoga teachers and intermediate / advanced students.
About Ana Forrest
Ana Forrest is recognized worldwide as a pioneer in yoga and emotional healing. Born crippled, her own life trauma and experiences, which include physical abuse, drug addiction, epilepsy, and bulimia, compelled her to create Forrest Yoga® and the Forrest Yoga® Educational Library.
Ana took her first yoga class on a dare at age 14 and became a certified yoga instructor at age 18. In her search to become a better healer and teacher, she studied Native American medicine and ceremony, Polarity Therapy, Homeopathy, Hands-On Healing, Martial Arts, Psychotherapy, and Regression Therapy.
Her philosophy and approach are unique and powerful, drawing on her vast life experiences. She is a living example of a spirit who has freed herself from the bondage of trauma, and chosen a warrior's path of compassion. Having studied a multitude of Yoga styles and healing modalities, Ana's focus is on guiding the student to use Forrest Yoga® in a meaningful way for the sacred exploration of truth, wholeness, and health.
The way she teaches Asana, Breath, and the movement of energy allows for the epiphanies of the students' life experiences to emerge. These illuminations create a unique and powerful opportunity for the student to make practical life decisions based on their experiences.
She is a well-known contributing expert to Yoga Journal and other national wellness publications. She has journeyed to India, Nepal, Costa Rica, Canada, Japan, Mexico, and through out Europe and the United States and currently teaches internationally at yoga conferences, workshops, and teacher trainings. Ana is on the board of Advisors for the Foundation for Athletic Research & Education (F.A.R.E. play) and is an instructor for continuing education at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic.
