Fresh Yoga Class Descriptions
Advanced Practice
A primarily Forrest yoga practice with minimal cuing, no assists and smooth music. This is a led practice as opposed to a taught class. Vigorous and intense, this class is a carefully constructed flowing series of intensive yoga asanas. Backbends, inversions and arm balances are emphasized. Familiarity with Forrest Yoga Level 2 or 3 classes is recommended.
Anusara-Inspired
Anusara Yoga is a powerful hatha yoga system that unifies Tantric philosophy with Universal Principles of Alignment. Each class has a heart-oriented theme. Each theme gives a direction for the attitudinal energy that infuses every action and breath in the poses. Effectively, all the poses in Anusara Yoga are expressed from the inside out. Each pose includes the specific principles of Muscular Energy and Organic Energy, which are the two complementary forces that provide each pose with a balanced action. Other alignment principles include Spirals and Loops, which help to bring refinement and precision to each pose. Movements and actions within every pose are coordinated with the breath. Poses are modified or supported with props if necessary to help each student achieve the general form of pose.
Ashtanga Vinyasa
Based on the primary series of ashtanga yoga, classes teach sun salutations, basic standing postures, and deep (Ujjayi) breathing. These classes are recommended for students at all levels. This class includes alignment instruction and demonstration.

Core Connection
Tone your abdomen, strengthen your back, and create a strong center. Go deeper into internal organs to release toxins, and bring freedom and fluidity into your body. Developing a strong core will help you avoid injuries and is a great compliment to your regular yoga practice. All levels.
Dance to Freedom
Dance to Freedom is all about moving and breathing. The music is a vibration, the breath a vibration, our body responds with a vibration called movement. We will start learning how to use and fill up the space and before you know it, build to a pulsating driving rhythm that is guaranteed to make you want to move. We will work our way to a seated meditation or a resting pose. Dance to Freedom is the dance between our body and our breath. Dance with us to celebrate, dance with us to release the tensions and burdens that the drudgery of our daily routines can place on us. Dance with us and just be!
Forrest Yoga Basics (level 1)

More advanced students can use Forrest Yoga Basics to deepen their practice.
Forrest Yoga Intensive (levels 2 & 3)

Hot Power Practice
A “HOT” yoga practice with minimal cuing, no assists and smooth music, creating a synchronized quiet chorus of movement and breath.
Level 1 & 2
This is a heated class sequenced in a way that uses the breath to establish a mind-body connection, core work to develop a strong and stable core, abdominals to strengthen lower back, vinyasa to build heat and standing poses to increase aliveness, strength and flexibility in the hips and legs. As a student you will be encouraged to move mindfully, feel every breath and explore your own unique expression of each pose.
Mixed Level classes (all levels)
These classes cover the range of Basics and Vinyasa classes. Modifications and variations are offered to increase or decrease the intensity of the class.
Power Vinyasa
Heated, flowing classes based on the Baptiste Vinyasa Power Yoga style. This style offers a vigorous, fast-paced series of poses designed to condition the whole body. Beginning with sun salutations, students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breath with the aim of creating freedom in the body, peace of mind, and the ability to move more powerfully and authentically.
Restorative
Restorative yoga is about moving the mind and body away from normal activity and into a relaxed state of being. Practicing a variety of asanas (forward bends, backbends, twists, inversion); each pose will be held for 5-20 minutes, allowing the body time to unwind and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.
Vinyasa
This fast paced class introduces the flowing form of yoga called Vinyasa. Vinyasa, which means breath-synchronized movement, is a vigorous style based on the performance of a series of poses called Sun Salutations, in which movement is matched to the breath. These classes typically start with a number of Sun Salutations to warm up the body for more intense stretching, inversions, or backbends done later in the class. More advanced students are offered challenging variations.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles that are predominant today. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive 'stress' on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body's meridian system, which enhances the body's energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. And as this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.
