Yoga Nidra is a systematic process of relaxing the physical body and the conscious mind, while maintaining a level of subconscious awareness: “Nidra” is commonly translated as “sleep,” but even though the body settles into that sleeping state (alpha or delta brain waves), the practitioner can still follow and benefit from the instruction. Jess will lead you through a deeply meditative, relaxation experience designed to release the mind-body from habitual reactions through the power of intention.

We will be laying on the floor for the duration of this practice - if you have props of your own that you wish to bring (blanket, pillow/bolster, etc) that will encourage more comfort please bring them along. Also feel free to bring paper/pen to record any reflections you have after the practice.

Addiction Recovery Coach and Sound Practitioner, Kelvin Young uses the crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gong, tuning forks, rattles, hand drum and other healing tools along with therapeutic grade essential oils for aromatherapy to activate the relaxation response, release any blockages in the energy fields, calm the mind, relax the body and nourish the soul. The synergy of relaxing sounds and essential oils assist in releasing tight muscles, pain, chronic/toxic stress, PTSD, depression, anxiety, addictive states and promotes positive sleep patterns.

Combining the two creates a model that truly addresses addiction as the physical, mental, & spiritual disease that it is. Y12SR is a 12-step based discussion and yoga practice that is open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others.

This is an open and inclusive group. All A's are welcome.
