Workshop Description
In this workshop we will be building on what was learned in Introduction to Hooping, with an emphasis on finding your own personal flow. In hooping, the term flow is used to describe the freedom of movement that can occur while you are in the hoop. Flow is a blissful experience, and when it occurs, the hooper and the hoop truly become one. Think of a surfer riding the perfect wave or a runner as they feel their feet on the ground, sun on their face and hit their stride. The mental state of flow is mentally, spiritually, and physically beneficial.
You don't have to be an expert hooper to begin to experience flow. You just have to show up and bring your sense of play. Even beginner hoopers can learn how to foster this experience and enjoy it's benefits. We will work with flow facilitating exercises both with and without the hoop. We will play with learning how to integrate dance into our hoopstyle, and experiment with freeing up energy through dance to facilitate our own personal flow. In addition to our flow work, we will also revisit basic hoop technique, and learn one or two fun hoopdance/trick combinations. All this is just the warm up to an exhilarating hoop jam where you can let go with your own personal flow. Be prepared to sweat, laugh and have a good time!
Previous hooping experience is helpful, but not required.

We will have hoops available for class use.
Please wear comfortable, non slippery clothing with as much exposed skin as possible. Tank tops, cotton shorts or pants are ideal.
