What will you learn?

This class is an introduction to the philosophy and practice of the primary series of ashtanga yoga. This series includes sun salutations, basic standing postures, and deep (Ujjayi) breathing. This class is recommended for students at all levels. This class includes alignment instruction and demonstration.

About the Instructor:

Iris Balodis began practicing Ashtanga at the Yoga Sanctuary and the Downward Dog in Toronto 9 years ago. She has practiced with Carolyn Johanson at Path Yoga in Kingston, Ontario as well as with Cynthia Funk and Ron Reid in Toronto. Iris has always been impressed at the comprehensive nature of the Ashtanga practice; the application of flexibility, strength and stamina builds a remarkable foundation for affecting action and behaviour.
